i wanna play too, so im starting my project log, but instead im just going to list the mods that are already on the car or are going on soon. all of which i already own. so it's just a matter of time
1990 Galant VR4 / GSX - Turbo charged, intercooled, All wheel drive, Manual 5 speed gearbox, Nordic Blue
I'm sure a lot of you out there interested in Galant VR4's have looked at them and wished they were lighter and had less 'useless' features, especially features that become problematic in 15 year old cars.
I bought a 1990 Galant GSX (all wheel drive) chassis. stripped it down and replaced everything with VR4 or DSM components.
This car is basically a light weight version of the Galant VR4, similar to what has been used for rally racing in the past. I cant wait to tip the scales with it!
The Engine
Machine work, balancing and assembly by Shaker Racing in Granger Indiana
Eagle rods
ross 8.5:1 pistons
balance shafts removed
ARP main, rod, head fasteners
all new bearings/rings
all new gaskets
4 layer steel mitsu head gasket
ported head with new valve/guides/seals
Crower Stage 3 (280/280) cams (part #64414)
Fuel, Induction and Exhaust
2g MAFS
custom intake
Brand new Big 16g turbo
with 10 degree clip and
ported 7cm exhaust housing,
34mm wastegate flapper.
JDM FMIC set up
RC550 fuel injectors
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Ported EVO 3 exhaust manifold
ported 2g DSM o2 housing
3in HKS downpipe
3in downpipe back exhaust
Driveline and suspension
Clutchnet 3000 lbs clutch
Clutchnet 6 puck with sprung hub (drive excellent)
NSK throw out bearing
JDM trans and Xfr case
new front axles
4 bolt LSD rear subframe from 92 DSM
5 lug hub conversion
brand new oem Galant VR4 brake calipers
new oem pads
new brembo rotors
1g DSM springs
1g KYB AGX 4-8way adjustable struts
2g DSM rear strut mounts
MOOG chassis tie rod end/ball joints
16in 1999 anniversary OEM OZ F1 Racing DSM rims
Dunlop tires
