I will start from the beginning I bought the car from a kid in Holland. he did a lot of work to it but just got tried of it. On the way home the fan stopped working. Got the car home and in the drive way the car jumped timing. I did not know much about dsms and rebuild the motor since the pistons were damage and the head as well. I rebuild the block the was in the car with a different head. Drove it for a while and the went out fix that and them. The same day I got it up a running the bottom end started to knock. That day i saw the previous owner and he told me that the motor was rebuild the the previous owner as well.. So I decided to get a whole longblock. Got one off of a member from this site. and put it in today and turn the key and MY BABY IS ALIVE AGAIN. sounds better then when I first bought the car. Specs: stock rebuild with arp stud no balance shafts front facing oil housing tubular header front mount inter-cooler hard piping T3/T4 garret turbo 38 mm external waste-gate vented bov block-off fiav block-off egr aftermarket boost gauge aftermarket air fuel gauge manual boost controller rewired fuel pump rebuild ecu I believe that is it I really didn't do any of this mods I bought the car like this and got it dirt cheap. I will new pictures soon here are some from when I brought it home the day I bought her. What does everyone think???

I found that the only thing wrong is that a have a small boost leak and i am leak fluid out of my slave cylinder but the clutch works good. Since I put the motor in yesterday the engine bay is dirty but HERE SHE IS. . . . . . . . I am working on a valve cover to replace the one on there. It is going to be shaved like the intake. Can anyone tell me what size is that turbo? the only thing it says is t3/t4 garret.

Does the turbo have any writing on it? Engine looks good though. I do think that the maf sitting there looks a little funny but egh it works. What size piping do you have attached to it ? I assume its not as big as a 60t. Once you get tuned for that turbo wont your maf be overrun?

The pipe is I believe 3 in on the mas. the turbo only says t3/ t4 garret on a little plate I can look again to make sure there is something else. I plan on switch to a gm mas in the near future since I am venting out my bov.

So what was the deal with the timming?

I work At Advance so I know I got the right ones. You just got to look them up the right way.
When the car was originally timed no oen grounded the timing plug.

So what was the deal with the timming? when you time the car, you need to ground out a plug that locks the timing at the ecu. After that, you adjust the cas to make the marks line up. Without the ground, the ecu is constantly changing timing values to keep the idle where it should be.
