Hey Dale, do you know what the requirements are for running a bike, safety/clothing wise?

I'm pretty sure anything faster than 9.90 requires full leathers, and a tether. slower than that and you still need a jacket and jeans. I'm also farily sure you need gloves as well.

Hey Dale, do you know what the requirements are for running a bike, safety/clothing wise? Jacket, gloves, and shoes/boots that go past your ankles required for all riders. If you run 10.99 or quicker, or trap more than 120mph full leathers are required. I'll have my leather jacket and some jeans and boots, hoping not to get booted after my first run....I'm sure I'll be trapping well over 120mph but I want 10's too

Do you know if the gloves have to have leather or plastic on the knuckles? I have actual motorcycle riding gloves, but they are thin, not leather, and don't offer much protection.
And shit, I don't have a designated riding jacket either.

I'm not 100% sure on that man. You are more than welcome to use my gloves and jacket if they are sticklers about em...I know my shits good I've made several passes on my kawi there.
If you go, did you plan on riding or trucking your bike up there? Call me anytime tomorrow, 325 0912. We'll figure shit out...

And so the tear down begins Got the plastics, tank, airbox, radiator, exhaust, and a few other misc things off tonight. Hopefully I'll have the head pulled by wednesday to see if I can find whats wrong. Found a GREAT deal on a motor with only 3k on it so worst case scenario I'll be picking that up. Hoping to find some bent valves but as violent as it sounded I'm guessing I won't be so lucky.

Yeah me too Kevin. My last pass I was shifting from 4th to 5th and something went wrong. Lost all power(still beat the 1000rr by 2 hundreths of a second even though he trapped 12mph more than me) What started as a minor tick I rode it back to where we were all parked and it got about 10 times louder in that short distance. Last time I started it, it definitely sounded like rod was broken or something else not easy to fix. The last time I started it the starter even sounded like it was having a hard time turning the motor over. I'll have pics of the carnage within a few days, I gotta let this guy know if I'm buying that engine from him or not. Pretty much ruined my weekend to say the least. HUGE thanks to Brian and Kayc and crew for letting my put my bike in the back of his truck and get it home. I think we finally got to Hartford around 3:30ish...I dunno, I sat in a lawn chair in the garage staring at my bike for about an hour.
