Well since i'm broke, and both the cars are running good now, i've got this fire under my ass to start working on my homemade go-kart that I built last summer. I got the crazy idea of making this thing run off the Megasquirt lol. So now the project has begun to make a MS powered one cylinder go-kart. First step i'm working on now is the crank trigger and sensor. I'm using a ford 36-1 trigger wheel, and MS1extra. I'll get the spark working first, then later start fabrication of a intake manifold for a single fuel injector. Then I found this: cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOTORCYCLE-QUAD-RHINO-Turbo-BIKE-SEADOO-Small-IHI-RHB31_W0QQitemZ110426434342QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item19b5edab26&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245HELLS YEAH! The kart has a 6.5HP Honda GX200 "clone" engine, and they make all kinds of performance parts for these things! Billet rods, flywheels, valve train upgrades, exhaust pipes, camshafts, you name it. Should be a fun project to work on as money permits. Heres a few pics so far of the trigger wheel setup.. Right now, stock, it tops out at about 40MPH..the valves start to float at 5300 rpm lol Hmmm I wonder if you could spool a t-25 with this engine haha..

2 stroke or 4 stroke? Turboing a 2 stroke is semi difficult from what I hear. Anyway this thing sounds fun, I am upset that I still haven't got a chance to drive it.

It's a 4 stroke OHV..it is a lot of fun driving around. Not too sure how i'm going to road tune the kart with a laptop though haha..

I've done this.... Assembly line rollers ( I have about 10 or so that are about 12" wide) prob the same as TJ's. You weld a sprocket to the und of one of them, and run a chain to a lawn roller on a stand your also going to have to fabricate, then you just fill the roller with the appropriate amount of sand, up to 40 gallons or so (very heavy) Yes I've done it, and yes it works. Don't ask, You wouldn't believe me if I told you what I used it for, but it had to do with lawnmowers doing wheelies ;D, and lots of beer. Took about an hour to build, Just find a lawn roller to borrow. I still have the chain, and sprockets etc. too.

Hahaha..Here's a short vid of the MS1 controlling the ignition on the engine.. Ran pretty good! The guy that writes all the code for the MS said that I would have a hard time starting by pull start using a toothed wheel...well it fired right up on the first pull lol.. Oh the 4g63 NGK spark plugs were a perfect match for the original plug too. Score! (need to run a resistor plug to get rid of electrical noise) www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2mHLttBkq4

i think we should have a go kart race when you're done. and yes, it would be pretty unfair with my go kart being my rail buggy. is it possible to ms a vw engine? lol

this is in the info area for the video:
Supercharged Go Kart built with a 2009 Harbor Freight 6.5 HP Honda GX200 clone engine. Supercharger is smog pump off a late 80s "FC" RX7. (Engine pulley 5") (Jack shaft driving pulley 6") (Jack shaft driven pulley 4") (stock smog pump pulley ~5") Ignition timing set to stock (20 degrees BTDC) Carb jetting stock, running fully choked. 93 Octane pump gas. Clutch not installed yet. Definitely not running right yet, but the supercharger housing itself needs to be disassembled and sealed since it leaks on the low pressure side where the back cover meets the main body. With this much "suck" behind the carb, any little vacuum leak seems to be enough to stop the engine dead.
