No lol I have no idea why everyone keeps saying that?? Austin Porter is with us but he is there only on tuesdays haha.. The business is called Stricly Import Motorsports and is in no way affiliated with Porter Performance. We do buy parts from Jon and he buys parts from us but we are NOT together..
Sorry just had to clear that up....
I am there almost every day. Just hit me up if you want to stop by the shop. I have a 2.3 stroker with these cams in it with a holset so we can go for a ride and you can see how you like the cams.

Hey John, did you have to use shims with your regrinds? Also, did you degree yours?

I did have to use #10 washers for shims and I did not degree them. Delta said that they did not need to be degreed. Unfortunately I probably had enough time during my build that I would of if my cas wasn't in my cam gear and i would have gotten adjustables. I am debating on getting Delta's Billet Kelford 272 grind. I get a pretty good deal and I might switch my cams out.

how thick is the #10 washer? what i dont like about a regrind, is that in order to "regrind" a camshaft the base circle is changed. this is why you have to shim the lifter. This affects the rocker arm geometry, unless you also change the tip height of the valve to accomidate the shim under the lifter.. changing the geometry will affect how the rocker arm moves across the tip of the valve, possibly loading the valve tip in a way that it isnt desiged for, and also making the rocker more likely to come off when spring bounce becomes an issue due to over reving or in inproper spring preassure... I realize that lots of people use these and dont have issues, Just thought i'd tell you the down sides of it.. BTW this same geometry problem is created by someone sinking your valves while doing a valve job.. its pretty hard to move a valve seat a large amount, unless u have no idea what your doing, but i"ve seen it happen. Just a heads up.

Yup that is why the you add the shim. I have tried to figure it out because you would think the valve wouldn't open up as far as it did before. I am having great luck with them and adjustable gears.. Pulls hard all the way to the limit..

so your supposed to do this on ALL regrinds? I have some Web cams in my red car, and never installed washers. It does start and run, but takes some moving of the CAS to speed things up. My lack of fuel pressure doesn't help this, but you think the cams could be part of the issue??

Possible... you will get some nasty lifter tick if that is the issue though.. The lifter won't beable to pump up as much to keep contact on the rocker

I'm pretty sure that if you're using regrinds without shims, your actual valve lift will be less than what is advertised. Is that correct, Tyler?
