well, its a long story but when we tried to extract the broken we messed it up. We tried to drill and tap for a bigger 2g stud and it came out a little crooked. I didn't like the way it looked and I didn't want an exhaust leak so I got a brand new head for $400. and all new belts and water pump. It was a big pain in the ass.

do most people need to ues a torch to get the exhaust manifold nuts off? I'm just worried about breaking studs off again

a torch helps because they have all been heat cycled but I have mine and they come off easy.

The first time I changed mine, I needed a torch. Now, I just change them once a year. They're a lot cheaper to replace than a manifold or head. ;D

Just got a new manifold from SBR. Its definitely not like my old one. Somebody did a lot of work with the die grinder. I guess its OK. Here is a few pics. I guess you get what you pay for.
