What brand oil pump failed? And what was the cause of failure? (this is Paul [99gst_racer], BTW)

Factory pump. cause unknown. my best guess is as follows: Originally i built a 2g piston, 1g rod engine for the car A local guy bought eagle rods, ross pistons, arp mains, all bearings and dropped an engine off at the machine shop to be bored, honed, balanced, line honed and assembled. He couldnt pay his shop bill and i wound up getting the engine for the price of the shop bill ~$700. it came with a front case/oil pump on it. I sold my 2g piston 1g rod engine with my known, good, working pump on it and installed the built engine in the galant. My mistake was not checking the receipt for pump inspection, nor checking the pump myself. So when the pump failed my first thought was 'but wtf, they put it on, im sure they inspected it.' After checking my receipts i figured out the didnt inspect it and my guess is they put it on assuming it was good because it was given to them and they werent asked to inspect it. The pump had began to eat into the housing and the failure happened (to the best of my knowledge) on a decel after an 8k rpm pull, i watched my oil pressure sit steady and then start to fall off, i cut the ignition and pulled over, it was late so i trailered it home and pulled the head, found no damage, pulled the engine and found damage to the pump, the crank on #2 and 4 was damaged and rods 2 and 4 were damaged, rods 1 and 3 were fine, the pistons are mostly fine, the moly skirt coating got scuffed off, a recoat and im sure they'd be fine, but i went with manley pistons isntead. Regardless of the reason, i've got a good pump on it now. I just need crower to replace my friggin cam. I sent pics to a metal treating facility in chicago and they said it definitely appears to be improperly and unevenly heat treated.

Sucks to hear all that man. Car looks really good though! Just needs some wire loom over that red wire on the passenger side and some black prothanes . I hope you can make it to a meet before the end of the year so that I can see that bad boy in person.

Update on this thread, the car has been parted out. It was going to get a 60-1 but i need to focus on school.
As it sits I have the minty fresh rolling chassis for sale if anyone wants it, missing engine/trans/turbo and cooling equipment, but interior and exterior is 100% complete, still has 4 bolt rear, 5 lug swap and OZ F1 racing wheels.
