Not sure what manual your reading from? Service limit on turbo 1g's is 130psi.

i was reading it wrong...sigh....thx man...
Limit: <Non-Turbo>: Min. 960 kPa (137 psi) [250-400 rpm] 6 <Turbo>: Min. 800 kPa (114 psi) [250-400 rpml - (8) Perform 6 and 7 above for all the cylinders, ensuring that compression pressure differential for each of the cylinders is within the specified limit. Differential limit: Max. 100 kPa (14 psi)
i was thinking between 114 and 14 psi....didnt seem right....it is a min of 114 psi with a variable of a max 14 psi between the cylinders..

must have been your first time pulling a 4g63.
The FIRST time I pulled one, I also left on the t-case. It came out, but I know just drop the tcase which gives you a lot more clearance.

leave a couple of the bolts halfway threaded on to keep it from falling and then wail the trans a few good times with a rubber mallet (nothing hard like a sledgehammer). i had one that was a pain too before that had been on since new

Pry bar and some muscle is all you need to get them apart. Just make sure that you remove the starter, inspection cover, and the 4 bolts around the transmission. After that it is prybar time and some good ole wiggling to get it off.
