I've been trying to keep this project a secret, but I imagine many of you already know about it... So after convincing myself that I would never own another 2G again, what did I do? Oh yeah, bought another 2G. FUCK! I thought it would just be a "put it back together and sell it" situation, but I just can't bring myself to half-ass it. I HAVE to out-do my old 2G. Anyway, I know we all hate reading, so on with the pics... The day I brought her home. First mod. Swapped in an OEM black dash, only to pull the bitch out the following week. Now the depressing shit... As you can see, I've got some rust issues to take care of. Who's got a MIG in the Grand Rapids area that I can borrow?

geezus no wonder MLF's shit was so slow...those holes in the trunk pan were killing the drag coefficient.

Pinder you should just cut the entire trunk pan completely out and make it one flat piece.

Hey now, PDM Racing fixed my strut tower years back. I didn't know it was bad again.
Per NHRA specs, any re-located battery sitting in the rear of the car needs an external vent...mother nature just took care of that for me.

Martin doesn't seem to really be on the ball with their tech inspections for street cars. Anwyay, trans was just dropped at TRE. Should be done by next Friday. Apparently Mitsu discontinued the taller 5th gear...

But technically the requirement is in the rule book. Glad to see you made some progress on the car, I think Brad has the transfer case from that car also if you need one.

Apparently Mitsu discontinued the taller 5th gear... Man, that sucks to hear. I planned to pick one up the next time I had my tranny out. So, Jon doesn't have any laying around I take it?

I didn't ask if he had any laying around the shop. Just assumed that by asking about it with the response he gave me meant he didn't have one to put in, and couldn't get a new one. Although we all know about assumptions...
I'd love to pick up that t-case from Brad, but the trans I bought is from a 97, so I'll need a 97-99 t-case, or have Jon "convert" my trans to a 95-96. Not sure which would be cheaper.

nice to see the progress being made. when I ran @ martin, they kinda looked at me as i raised my hood, a 5 second skim of the engine bay, and a have fun! from the guy. love it.
