Update: Im going with stage 2 since its only 150 more
The amount of individual part attention and treatment makes it worth it IMO. TRE takes any problem gears or spots and smoothes things out for a perfect and seamless notchless shifting trans.
Also your right about them not storing LSD's, so I need to wait to get mine in after they order it.

let's go back a little. explain to me why the welded center is not good for a street car. i'm only asking because jon(tre) is building my stage 2 with upgrades this week, and he's welding the center diff for me. this is only so i can dyno the car as a FWD if i so wish. if we hurry i can still change my mind. maybe.

On my car I hated just driving it. It would skip around at low speed tight turns. I enjoyed launching the car very much but I just couldn't stand driving at low speeds

^yep, thats what it'll do. Just like driving a truck in 4x4 low range or something of the like...takes a good amount of effort in low speed maneuvers.

ehh... I'm still planning on getting my center diff welded. I've always been a "straight-line guy", so I think I'll like it alot. If all goes as planned, I'll be dropping my tranny off at Jon's shop on Friday this week.

It made my car just miserable to drive in town. Even launching on street tires wasn't really all that better for me. Really the car spun alot easier. If on a slicked car, I would highly recommend it.

i'm not too concerned about low speed turns etc.. but i'm sure that i will grow to hate it in time, like you guys have. but my car is gonna live at the track, but still be driven, just because i can't stay out of the car , and i'm running Hoosier quick time pro's, so i can't wait to see my 15psi @6500 launches! Paul, i thought you alredy had a TRE trans in your car? or are you talking about the awd trans being there friday? maybe i'll see ya there cause i will be picking mine up on friday, and i know how jon likes to talk, so i will prob be there all day.lol

Usually having a tranny rebuilt BEFORE you drop it in is a good idea, from what I hear its a little harder to rebuild it after its dropped in lol.

I was referring to rebuilding it now as apposed to running it stock for now, and then pulling it later this season to rebuild it...... num-nuts.

Paul V. what's the scoop on your trans ? -gold It's sitting at TRE right now. It's been there for nine days, and he hasn't even called to dicuss my options yet..... Who knows.... I guess I'll have to give him a call on Monday, even though he probably won't answer.
