If your not looking to spend a ton more money on it right now, keep the GC's and pick up some Koni's. The AGX's are a pretty bad setup for coil overs, way to much compression, not near enough rebound. The Koni's are a pretty decent setup and you still have lots of adjustability by changing in for different spring rates by either using Eibach springs or get some hypercoils from Paul. Or if you have lots of money get some JIC's or HOTBITS.

I've found a good price on the Ksports, and if I get rid of the GC/AGX combo, I won't pay much.
I don't like the GC style setup... a little to half-assed to me.

I felt the same way about the gc setup until I bought my car and it had them. Most will say if you don't have the money for upper end stuff ($2k +) stuff then you should stick with the Koni/GC setup. In my opinion the spring rates for the d2/ksports are just to stiff and they only have 1 option from what I had seen before.

I'm not too scared about stiff springs. And I know plenty of people love their GC's. I just want something a step above.

If you get them I would like a ride down a harsh road

I have the perfect dirt road with mad washboards goin on for ya. How about 36psi on a 40r as well?

If it were me, I'd see about buying the K2's minus the springs. Then pick up a set of hypercoils for them.
I know all about springs rates for 2G's, but not for 1G's. What's the front-to-rear weight distribution like on a 1G?

Sounds fun Hey Paul do you think there is any reason they do not offer different spring rates for that as is?The 504 in the front and 396 in the rear just seems so harsh. I could barely stand 350 in the front and 300 in the rear.

I could barely stand 350 in the front and 300 in the rear. 1G's must be lighter in the front than 2G's. For a 2G, I could see the fronts being closer to 550+. But that sounds about right for rates for competition use (which is what these are intended for). Your rough ride may have been due to your shock absorbers.

Yeah I think my agxs have seen better days. I am both curious and excited to see how these work for Pinder A nice coil over system would be awesome. Do you think the coils made for ground controls would fit on these coil overs? It would be nice to have the car corner balanced.

Yeah, not to mention like Dan already stated, AGX's aren't the best choice for a sleeved coilover set-up. Do you think the coils made for ground controls would fit on these coil overs? It would be nice to have the car corner balanced. Yup. Coilover size isn't really brand specific. They are all shaped the same. You just specify diameter, length, and rate when ordering. (I'm not sure what typical DSM length and diameter is either. But I'd guess like a 2.5" diameter and an 8" length)

1G's should use 7 inch springs in the rear, and 6 inch springs in the front, but 7 inch springs can be used up front if the desired spring rate is not available in a 6 inch length.

some of the evo guys seem to love the megan stuff. from what i've heard, the k-sports are not all they're cracked up to be. the d2s (atleast from my suspension research with my last 240) are much better than the k-sports. the k-sports are comparible to the basic teins. now anything more than tein's basic setup is great but other than that they both tend to blow out fast. more consistently than abused agxs. i do have one suggestion for you though pinder, sign up on galantvr4.org and start browsing around. there have been groupbuys put on by larry parker (local rally guy out by detroit-ish) who is a hotbits dealer and gets some pretty killer deals from time to time. we're talkin full on external reservoir race ready bolt on setups for under $1500. if you're gonna go budget full coilover i'd go with the megans though. you can find em on ebay for right around $800 and they still have front camber plates and pillowball upper mounts throughout standard. plus they'll match your color scheme ;D

Well I've found that the D2's do not get re-valved if you order different spring rates...
So far the Megan's are looking to be the best bet, even though they have less adjustment. I'm waiting to hear back from Martin at VIPGarage for more info.
