I came to the conculsion that I kinda want to improve a few things on my setup, so started a few tasks.
My old manifold wasnt tapped properly for an EGT, so a traded a few parts and copped this GT mani; It was only on another car once, just to start it up and test, so its basically brand new. I find that it looks strikingly similar to the SB mani. Thicker mounts and a 7cm outlet. I like it alot compared to my stocker. Heres some pics:
And as you can see, only 1 and 4 were functioning...
Still shiny
Although upon removing my old manifold, I came across some issues...
The bolts were seized up no matter WHAT I did; starting up the car to get them warm, PB Blast, torch, NOTHING worked.
Which EVENTUALLY led to this: (TJ, Pinder, LaFond, and Steven already know )
So I have that to take care of presently... I wanted to get a 14b houing and port it, but I found a good friend that is helixin those studs out. Once I get that back I have to CAREFULLY retap a metric fitting
ps I already got new bolts otherwise I would grip yours Dan...
And I found these fun little tidbits of gasket:
ANNNNND...
LOL ... which led to drinking
So while the turbo housing is out getting worked on, I decided to change the oil return line; (Thanks Milf and Jeff )
and I sold a couple more things lying around, and gripped this for a deal:
Brand new Fluidyne Extra HD low/high drop trans cooler ;D ;D b/c you know, I HAVE to be different and drive an AT an all...(Hate on me ) and my old one looked like this:
SO I was thinking where to mount the new one, and I thought, MAYBE... here? LOL
LOL and more drinking
LMAO im a loser
So that is an update (a big one) nonetheless, Ive done a few other things too, some I dont want to mention ;)Im so glad my garage is heated... I know you are all sooooo interested, so ill post more updates as this "simple" swap turns into more "fun"...
