It is finally time to turbo it. If you guys can remember at the shootout last year i had a front mount with no piping....i got a lot of shit for it. The car has changed a lot from last year. I'll post pictures as progress takes place, the turbo should be here today so this weekend I'll start adding the goodies. I'll keep you guys posted Travis

It's suppose to come in today. It is a 63 trim t3 internally gated vband turbo. (ebay turbo) it's cheap and it will work good for the 8 psi that i will be running until i go forged internals. I'll post pics.

The turbo is at my house ready for the install. For being an ebay turbo it looks well put together and has one of the best looking wastegates I've seen on a turbo of this price. Came with a 2.5" SS v-band flange, all the gaskets and flanges, and a good length of SS braided feed line. We'll have to wait and see about the durability of it, but from first look and impressions it seems well, should run 8psi all day with minimum problems. I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow for ya.

Lol, so you buy a BOV that costs almost the same as your turbo? I guess whatever floats your boat - good luck with the project!!!

Well, it finally happened over the weekend, the 420a with the capped off intercooler, finally got a purty turbo to feed it. The install was typical, took a few on and off days, had to fabricate a downpipe in SS, modify the wastegate, route piping, Missing Link, etc.... Getting started..Travis, Lewis, and Mike Goodbye header... Goodbye Air Conditioning, didn't work anyways... Why hello :-) Modifying the wastegate bracket Lewis breakin stuff....j/k Fabin the 2.5" SS dowpipe Just need to put in the O2 bung.... Oooohhhh purty.... We have a few small kinks to work out with the coolant temp sensor being stupid and such, but the turbo install went perfect as could be and we had no leaks, no issues, and it boosted well. Now we just need to fix that stupid sensor and he needs a new FMU as the one he had on it is questionable. Well, at least ya don't have to be a poser anymore Travis. ;D ;D ;D ......hahahahahahahahaha

Any questions just let me know. I've been down the turbo 420a road once or twice lol. Just be aware that even any light to moderate amounts of detonation will crack piston ring lands really quick. I've got quite a few paper weights laying around because of it. And not just on one occasion lol. 6-8 psi should be safe, yet run it rich for added safety. Above 8 psi is playing with fire. The 420a pistons are just really brittle.
Good job though, looks nice.
