What's up guys? Well I just picked up my dizzm last night, I am now the "proud" owner of a 91 TSi AWD. Desided to post up in the project logs because of what i want to do with this car. Goals first off is to fix all the problems, get it back to square one, how i want it, derice the interior, and start on with my ultimate goal for the car. I want to make this car a roadrace/dd car, mild budget suspension mods, 300whp, just an easy build. Well, here's pics of the car smg.photobucket.com/albums/v423/Compton_Rider/dizzm/Thanks for looking!

ill be updating whenever possible. I am currently jobless, so im doing this with my spare time and very little cash. I picked up front axle seals, they said the talon had two different axle seal part numbers for the drivers side. Even though theres only one tranny availible besides AWD and FF layout, but the seals should be the same, so i just got two for good luck. Haha, im going to start working on removing the paint and c/f stickers tonight, ill post up pics of the proces.

Made more progress! Psuedo cleaned out the interior and looked through the 'parts' he gave me, big let down. Got dash pieces that have glue all over them, apparently he said the previous owner covered everything in monkey fur. Got the stock fuel pump, stock upper intercooler piping. Here's the big let down, the 16G he said that just needed a rebuild, is an Ebay knockoff Evo3. Instead of a tag, or anything on the compressor, it was written in engraving pen "TURBOCHARGER - DSM EVO111' so it looks like i got a 200 dollar paperweight.
I also took out the turbo timer; wow, what a mess that was. He had 20 feet of wire taped together for no reason and hacked the ignition harness up, so I'm in the process of fixing that. But good news is, i opened up the turbo timer to see if it was real or knockoff, and right on the CPU it said 'G/Trust' so I've concluded that it is real.
Got my fuel sending unit back from Coils, but after looking at the VFAQ page, the feed tube is 180'd off, so I still need a sending unit (hint hint). Tested the Walbro high volume with a 9v battery and it works, so i mounted it in anyways and dropped it in the tank. Pulled the battery out of the S13 and put it in the Talon, and it runs!
That's the big update for tonight, hopefully update more later on in the week, I posted new pics in my photobucket of the turbo timer harness and the sending unit and fuel pump installed. I don't want to post pics up here since right now I'm free riding the site until the guy gives me the full amount for the S13 i traded, then I'll buy a membership and not feel bad for wasting bandwidth, haha.
Lemme know what you think!

from what i understand, people have taken the ebay knockoff 16g's, rebuilt them with garret internals and they supposedly boost just as well as the mhi ones.

got some updates, no pics of recently though.
So the car did not have heat, apparently the kid before me thought it would be uber more performance with a 160º thermostat, so hello open loop mode all the time. Ha. Replaced the thermostat, spun the BOV around 180º then installed the recirc tube.
Also, the kid before me was apparently running 22psi according to him, so i pulled the cap off the Real HKS gate, and looked, it has a 10psi spring with a standard bolt about 3 inches long in the cap, well the bolt was 100% snugged down, i backed it out about 1.5 inches, no more fuel cut and i get to hear the gate working, finally!
I got an a-pillar, parcel shelf, and another door panal, along with some other misc, bullshit from Tyler up here. Put my rear wiper arm on (anyone know the thread pitch and size? i need a nut for it). I also bolted on my front marker lights and got the front end more sturdy.
While at Tyler's we desided to put my Motegis on his lowered talon to see what it would look like, well we found out that my tire and rim combo, are about 3/4-1" shorter then oem combo, bad news bears.
Ill post up more pics later of everything.
OH one last thing, would it be fine if i just bent my fuel sending unit feed line with a tubing bender to get the sender in about the right position, or would that hinder fuel flow if/when i deside to go E85, im also only looking for about 300whp on E85 on the 14b, lemme know.

as long as you dont kink the line in an way that will hinder the flow then i dont see a problem from what you were telling me. give me a holler later or some time and we can discuss some ideas for it if you want

so update..I turned down the boost and figured out the powersteering lines, but have yet to install the pump because of a cut line issue.
Found out from the 'coloured snow test' that my axle seals are not leaking, but its my valve cover and it leaks BAD.
Since I got a job at Thirlby Automotive as a parts driver, i get some great discounts on parts. I bought a Victor valve cover gasket, and tie rod ends for alittle over 60 bucks.
Also in the past week, my clutch has been acting up, and losing pressure and gaining pressure and not disengaging, so i bought a new master, put it in, same problem, then I start to think about it, listen to the bellhousing and feel some stuff in the pedal. I'm almost certain i shattered a clutch disk. I'm going to be ordering a 6-puck sprung ACT disk to go with my used 2100 pressure plate.
Car has been driving real nice besides the clutch issue, got the rear wiper bolted on (thank you 240sx tailight nuts), bought a nylon line gauge install kit for like..3.50, and did some little misc stuff.
My friend up here has a 90 FF TSI parts car that I am going to take some parts out of, mainly interior bits and radio brackets so I can install my boost and EGT gauge, then order a JAW display so i can mount them under the radio.
Also, I've been debating on whether or not to put back on the turbo timer, it would be convenient for after the long 10 hour days at work, but kind of pointless on a 14b, and also, I don't think my keys work in the hatch or doors, so I cannot lock my car, so that's another thing

haha..Ben i don't think a 2900 would suit my demands or driving style, it would just be way too heavy. Mainly I think i just need a disk if i can prove my pressure plate to be an ACT 2100, the disk definatly was not. Worst case scenario, OEM till I save up for a nicer clutch.
Yea Tom, it's his, I really hate to see what hes doing to my beloved S13...
