So I'm switching my 1990 Laser RS motor to my 1991 Talon TSi. I needed a power transistor and a coil pack, so I pulled them out of my bros parts car that I thought was a 91 Laser RS. The coil pack is a 91, but the power transistor looks exactly like the one in my 1990 Laser! I checked the VIN on his Laser, and the title says that it's a 1991, but the tenth digit of the VIN is an "L" just like my 1990. Can anyone make sense out of this?

maybe its just a early 91. That is weird. If the coil pack is from a 91 then I believe that the ptu should be too. The difference is in the amount of pins it has. I believe its 7 for 91+

yeah, the ptu only has 5 pins but judging by how corroded the bolts were, I would have sworn it was stock. I'm gonna take another look at everything @ noon.

Mystery solved: The wire mess on my Laser got me again. The guy had spliced a triagular harness onto the Laser for a 91-94 coil pack! son of a $#%&*!!!!
