my car got backed into it last weekend a week after i painted it ( juss my luck huh) and had about 1500 dollars worth of damage done to it. so was looking for a 90 to 91 front end and came across this 90 laser. so i asked the guy if he was selling it and he said ya just to get it out of his shop. so then i looked inside and the motor had 75000 original miles on it and also the auto tranny. thats 104000 less then my awd turbo car and 120000 less then my awd parts car. he said he would take 500 obo for it. the quater has been hit and the rest of the body is in okay shape. so i was wondering if also the 2.0 liter non turbo engine would work in my awd turbo talon. also would any ecm work in the 91 laser cuz he said that the only thing wrong with it, was the ecm

i'll try and break down your options here for you:
yes the n/t engine could work.
-if your awd parts car is a 90, then everything would swap. you'd obviously have some left over parts and unused connectors but everything should drop right it. also if it is a 90 then you'd might as well remove the oil cooler setup since it wont be used on your n/t engine either. you would want to run a matching 90 n/t ecu for it. also swap the n/t fuel pump in so it's not running unnecessarily rich. you're biggest issue in any event would fabbing up a downpipe section to mate up to the stock manifold and rest of the exhaust.
-if your parts car is a 91-94 then in addition to the items mentioned these are the appropriate 91-94 2.0 n/t parts you could would have to swap out to work with the wiring harness *91-94 n/t tb with sensors *91-94 cas *91-94 ecu (a/t & m/t ecus dont matter for n/ts because they all had the same injectors unlike the turbo models)
thats pretty much what i can think of off the top of my head. personally i dont think it's in any way worth it but hey thats just me.
