Well some of you know that Brandy's car has been acting funny since right before the last Midnight Madness and I am having an issue getting anything over 18lbs of boost. The car drives fine, boosts fine, but as soon as it hits around that boost level, it sounds like there is an external wastegate on the car and it feels sluggish.
I thought that maybe it was the gasket between the turbo and the manifold but aside from some deformation it is fine. Then I pulled the manfold and checked the gasket between that and the head. This appeared to be fine and I couldn't find any flaws on it. I did notice some oil around it but I am sure that is from the valve cover gasket.
Any thoughts or things I might want to look into? I am pretty much out of ideas right now.

The actuator shouldn't have any affect on this. The exhaust leak sound leads me to believe that there is an exhaust leak but it doesn't show until there is some back pressure in the exhaust system. All the bolts were tight on the exhaust system, all the gaskets were in good shape, and I can't find any cracks pre turbine wheel.
For some reason I am thinking that I am having an issue like Paul had with his heat barrier gasket. I have a factory gasket but I am wondering if I some how cracked the intake manifold gasket by the egr port and it leaks when I get some pressure in the exhaust system.

Try sucking some seafoam though the engine. That'll put out enough smoke to show any exhaust leak.
