Ok, here it is finally my first build EVER!!! For my 2008 Christmas present my amazing boyfriend Eric surprised me with my first DSM. It's a red 91 fwd 5s speed turbo charged Eagle Talon!!! The catch?.... No motor!! But the price was right $150 as is! The car has almost everything, the only thing that was obviously missing was the motor, radiator, shifter knob, radio, and a majority of the piping. I only have one plan and it's more of a goal. Create an all stock, back to the basics, daily driver. I was fortunate that Eric has a spare radiator so cross that off the list. Also just picked up a motor in need of cleaning and minor work. Here's the fun part; PHOTOS!!!!!! This is what it looked like when we towed it home: After a bad scrub down and a switch of the grill from Mitsu to Eagle: And here is the emptiness of my engine bay: Lovely backside view. My 4 beautiful Talon mudflaps Front fender patched by idiot ex-owner: Tiny bit of rust: And an interesting paint defect on the hood: Last but not least my mileage:

Almost forgot the photos of the motor I picked up!!! Cracked valve cover that came with the motor (not the one I'm using): Majority of the block: Can you say future BSE?: Crank!.... That soldier boy: New sensor in my future: Glory hole...s?: Need at least 2 new rockers: Bent valves: I guess cylinder 3 isn't running lean anymore:

it doesn't matter that the car is fwd because it will be my summer cruiser. I've got my 2000 Jeep for all my winter two tracker haha!!
Eric just stopped by the machine shop today for quotes to get the motor a once over. The price range is I think $350 to $550 depending on the damage and if i can find valves for cheaper.
Also need an oil pan and need to make sure that the pistons that i have are going to be good enough for the motor. Good news is I don't have to mess with the suspension because the owner before me put in some awesome shocks that i don't remember the name of.

so the cheapest that I could find a full set of valves for would cost me about 112 bucks anyone find or have some for a little less?

Ok so little bit of a side track and update. As far as the Talon goes I have the motor paid off and I plan on taking it to the machine shop before the end of the month. But as of now I can't do anything because I just found out today that my damn radiator has a bad leak. I knew it was losing coolant just didn't know from where. So anyway I have to find time and money to replace the damn thing. I can't beat the price I was quoted but it's still more than I can afford.

With everyone going to aluminum it should be to expensive to pick up a stocker off some one.

Hey, I've got some valves. Not new, but are in good shape, and not carbon'd up either. PM if interested.

Well I've got some good news on my motor finally!!!! sometime at the beginning of the month I took my motor in GT Cylinder Head and Block. Well they said TODAY that my block is almost complete and that he has just a few more things to work on with the head. But the best thing of all is that he gave me a "done" date, it should be completed either Wednesday or Thursday!!! WOW! The cost for all the work isn't too bad either 450 to 500.... Well there is my update. Oh but the trans I have might not be for a Talon!!! YIKES!!
