Damn, this would have been good to know a couple months ago.
We had one red-ring here at the house and we figured it was trash, so we shot it up with a couple Glocks and an AR-15.

Pics or Vid of this? I'm pretty sure Sewey got video and pics on his phone. If I can get them, I'll post them. 30-round mags are awesome for destroying stuff.

It's really easy to fix these if you have the right equipment. All you usually have to do is reflow the BGA's on the board and replace the thermal paste and it usually fixes them. It's just that the equipment to do it right is expensive.
But since I'm and Engineer at a SMT electronics manufacturer I use this equipment everyday. Oh and so does this guy that works here, fixes Xbox 360's with company time and equipment and makes decent money haha.

Or 2 PS3's, an Xbox 360, and a Wii. Nukka. ;D If there's something that beats all that, it's what I play. Nintendo NES! Don't kid yourself, you know you miss Duck hunt, Super Mario Bros., and RC Pro AM. I may need it repaired though, it won't play Paperboy, I even bought another game (for $2)...no go, plays everything else on the first try, without even needing to blow them out like back in the day. Not too shabby when you think that all the games I have sat un-sleeved in a Meijer bag in my parents basement for the last 20 years. It's awesome!

I loved that game and Ivan Stewart's Super Off Road.

Super C (contra) owns all. I can beat it start to finish in 8 min 30 sec. We have the older systems upstairs (NES, PS1, PS2)
