Save tons of money, buy a plasma. The blacks will be better, color will be great, and the life is awesome on them. You will need to break it in though to ensure that you will not have image retention issues. Check out avforums.com for more info on anything that you could be intersted.

I def agree with going with the Plasma, much cheaper, colors are still the best out there. And if you're going to spend that much money you might as well spend a little more and avoid the "Vizio" brand, something about the brand just makes me cringe inside haha. Samsung or Sony FTW.

D, My bro ended up with a high-end plasma over the LED. If you are going to wall mount it, for sure plasma. The viewing angels are far better. However, straight on, I'd go with an LED. FYI, TigerDirect has a 55" Samsung LED for $1299 with free shipping. Best deal I have ever seen. www.tigerdirect.com/email/WEM2483.asp?SRCCODE=WEM2483IM&cm_mmc=Email-_-Main-_-WEM2483-_-tigeremailIf you do some research on TV suppliers for Q4 (now), they have HUGE surpluses. This is slated to be the best time ever to purchase HD TV's. Next year pricing will begin to stabilize as supply is eaten up and levels out with consumer demand.

Samsung and Panasonic run the Plasma market. Pioneer was the best but they stopped making tvs for some reason. It was rumored that they sold a lot of their technology to Panasonic after that.

Could you post up a few TVs that you like. I don't much about the diif in led and plasma. Mostly just TV watching maybe maybe a little xbox. I do like the TVs with apps. Netflix and FB seems dope.

I was looking at tiger direct...does any other manufacturers have a TV with built in Internet Applications? Vizio has apps like net flicks and fb and stuff. Sounds cool.
