My wife has had an itch to buy a new-er car to replace her 98 camry. I"m not a fan of car payments so I will try and hold her off for as long as I can. I'm interested in your opinions. I'm thinking of the 25-30k range. I would like to see her get a used GX470 or a Yukon or even a Yukon XL. She says NO to the GM trucks. She really liked the Tundra a while ago. That would be cool. We like things like heated leather seats, 3rd row seating and 4x4. She mentioned the Ford Flex and the Edge to me the other night and I puked in my mouth. 25-30k GO!

You can get an '07 Navigator for about that much.
An '07 Chevrolet Tahoe LT would be sick too. What's Judy got against GM stuff?

Honestly the newer Tahoe and Yukons are awesome. Or you could even go all out and get an Escalade for that price range. Same as the GM's but maybe she will like being a baller... lol

no to the edge but the flex is pretty cool imo. an awd limited will be nicely within your price range and they're great vehicles.
the expedition and navigator are also solid vehicles just steer clear of ones equipped with air ride but i'd recommend that on any vehicle.
for a toyota what about a sequoia? its a tundra with third row seating. also the infiniti fx35 is sweet but not as big.
for that price range you really can have your pick. my best suggestion is to show her pictures and ideas and just do a lot of test driving. once you have some that you like then you can dig deeper and weigh out pros and cons. anything ford/lincoln i can answer most any questions you might have about those but i would stay away from chrysler.

The Toyota Highlander is another option that fits that criteria.

We went to the Auto Show yesterday and sat in a lot of things. I'm not exactly sure what she doesn't like about the GM suvs. I love you Yukon. I'd get a Suburban if I had my choice. I don't think she cares for the styling. Thank god she doesn't like the Flex or the edge now. We test drove the Sube once a while ago. I will have to take a closer look at the Highlander.

I'm not a huge fan of the exterior of the Highlander, but I bet it's a great SUV overall.
I love everything about the new Suburbans except for their fuel economy. They look fantastic on the exterior.

I'm going to have to disagree with my brother here, I'm honestly really impressed by the recent Ford products. Though apparently the newer Mustangs won't withstand being hit with a snow plow...
