As you all know I picked up a 03 Evo VIII last year. I dont plan on buying to much for it this year as my main goal will be to pay it off.
However, modding is inevitable ;D . I've been resisting to make large purchases but have gotten a couple things and still plan to get a few more through the year.
Car came mostly stock except..
Motor Rebuilt 31k miles ago by Dynamic Speed in Chesterfield, MI. At this time the following was done:
- Bored .20 over
- Balanced Crank
- Balance Shafts Removed
- JE Pistons installed with Diamond Coatings applied
- Oliver I-Beam Rods
- ARP Main Bolts
- ACL Bearings throughout
- Head decked and valve guides and seals replaced
- Ferrea Double Valve Springs
- Manley Standard size intake and exhaust valves
- New Mitsubishi MLS Head Gasket
- New Water pump
- New timing components and OE belt and serpentine belt
- Oil Pan was replaced with new valve cover gasket
Shortly after picking it up It had a couple electrical issues but luckily a friend of mine who's a electrician and works on cars helped resolve what I could not( some of you know 3kgt Matt).
Since I got it I've picked up:
-stock rear swaybar (none on car when purchased)
-stock front lip (temp( none on car when purchased)
-forge rs bov( to replace stock leaky plastic unit)
-2 carbon fiber mitsu logo badges( to replace stock chrome ones)
In about a week Im suppose to be picking up a 3"catback and ams licp from a local for a great price. The seller of the car also gave me a 3" downpipe with the car so all I need is a testpipe to bolt on the catback.
The next mods/fixes inline without spending to much are:
- NEW ALARM SYSTEM( none currently on it)
-iac/isc idles a bit high and has thrown a code for this.
-External oil cooler(stock unit leaked so was removed).
-jdm blk style tail lights
- carbon fiber exhaust shield, front do luck lip, and vortex generator
- Aem digital oil pressure, and true boost gauge/controller.
Wideband will be taken off the talon.
All this adds up to more than I wanted to spend on it already, lol. Well see how fast all this comes.
Ill keep things updated as parts come in.
Later.
