I bought a 1991 Talon TSi recently, I guess I may as well track my progress on here. As it sits it's a bit rusty and the paint job is definitely rough, but the motor is definitely in good shape. Here's what is currently done and what I want to do:
-DSMLink v2 currently installed, upgrading to DSMLink v3 later this month
-MAF-T currently installed, leaving when the upgrade to v3 happens, going with speed density instead, MAP sensor already installed
-TRE Stage 4 transmission with 10% taller 5th gear currently installed, definitely leaving that alone.
-OEM crank, may get changed out at a later date to make a stroker motor, haven't decided
-Big 16g turbo, going to replace with Forced Performance DSM86 and TiAL 44mm wastegate
-3" downpipe-back exhaust that has some not so pretty bends in it, may get replaced at some point this year.
-Currently has FIC 850cc injectors, will get upgraded to FIC BlueMAX 1550cc
-Currently has Walbro 255LPH fuel pump, no issues there
-Currently needs u-joints replaced
-Currently has Innovate Motorsports XD-16 Wideband O2 sensor
-Currently has Autometer Cobalt Pyrometer but needs probe replaced
-Currently has TiAL 50mm Q BOV, nothing needed there
-Currently has an intercooler from a company that's now out of business, can't remember the name off the top of my head. Nothing needed there.
-Desperately needs rust spots and paint job taken care of, already have somebody lined up to do it.
-Going to order and install Snow Performance Stage 3 Boost Cooler Kit
-Want to install a fuel cell for E85. Need to look into it more and figure out the logistics, I'd like to be able to have a fuel cell in the back and be able to switch back and forth between gas and E85. Any ideas on that would be welcome. Currently debating where to stuff a fuel cell. Considerations are deleting the rear seats possibly or hacking where the spare tire is.
-Want to install a roll cage and possibly different seats (Recaro maybe?)
-Power steering was deleted, not sure if I want to put it back in.
-Cruise control was deleted, that's definitely going back in.
Goals for the year are to get some passes at 131 and figure out what this thing can do in the quarter mile and possibly go play around doing some autocross.
