Whazzup So Im working on a 95 Fwd Tsi for a guy and am having a little trouble sourcing the issue. Problem: Idles a bit rough but drives ok. When you try to go into and boost it pretty much feels like your not trying to accelerate at all. The wideband goes rich as all hell at 10.0 and then the car starts breaks up until you let off. Mods(that I know of): built bottom, act clutch, (ebay) 255 fuel pump, (ebay) knockoff hks ssq(vta), (ebay) ebc w/ turbo timer, aem wideband, (unsure of name) -30-0-30 boost gauge, keydriver chipped ecu, precision 780( i think) injectors, (ebay) fmic, (ebay) 3" turboback exhaust, external O2 dump, not sure what else at the moment. Things that have been done by either me or John at AutoMasters (previous guy working on it). Replaced O2 sensor Boost leak tested smoke tested reworked vacuum lines changes and gapped ngk plugs replaced keydriver chip and maybe some other stuff... The owner said It ran like this fine for a while but then started acting up which leads me to maybe maf or checking the O2 sensor again. He gave me a (ebay lol) fpr to put on, so thats on the list aswell. But any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. -Edwin

Lol. Have fun with that one.
I also tried a MAF and Map sensors on the car aswell as a stock fuel pressure regulator too. Basically I tried everything I could think of fuel and boost related. Nothing helped at all. I also checked the ground trace in the ECM, as keydriver recommended Good luck to ya sir
Edit: Had the eBay basted 20g apart aswell. Compressor fins a little beat, everything else looked ok.

sounds like spark is dropping out or is very weak..wideband goes rich because misfires cause unburned fuel..Have you tried a known good coilpack and also a power transistor unit? I'd start there.

had a similar issue with my 96 fwd, it\ dont have wide band but the car ran great then it just keep getting worse, you could drive it as long as you dont boost but when you boost it backfires and acts crazy. my solution was to dropping the fuel tank draining all the fuel out and cleaning out all the crap in the tank and changing the sock on the fuel pump.
hope this helps

Has nobody pointed out that the 255 fuel pump will overrun the stock regulator?

255 sometimes do overrun the fpr however not at 1 psi. I do however plan to put the new regulator on as a precaution. Also I'd imagine if the fuel filter was clogged or dirty then it would be restricting the system and leaning out the mixture as appose to running it rich. Ill be talking with a buddy this week and see if I can borrow a couple parts off his car that Id like to swap around. I'll let you guys now if anything changes. Thank you all for your support and keep them coming . -Edwin
