Here is the GSX: www.xceedspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196323here is my avenger: www.xceedspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194995can anyone tell my about the GSX if they know anything about it, and would you do it if you were in my position? pretty much my only car requirements right now are i have to be able to drive it for about 3 months without putting any big money into it. after that i could put a lot of money into it. like $5k range. talked to him about it he said he;d want to trade, and the clutch issue stated in the thread would be fixed before trade. all the other issues are already fixed. and specific questions i should ask him? anything i should look for? just any advice in general? things i noticed: one of the FMIC pipes is haning below the bumper, and non-reciculated BOV (but he could be running a GM MAF idk) i just don't know TONS about the 4g63, just enough to sound stupid. so that's why i'm looking for some advice here. mostly want to get rid of my avenger, because it's slow as fuck, high mialage, rusting to shit, and i don't want to own avengers anymore. KBB on my car (with no mods obv) at fair: $1,229

Here is my thoughts. Will this be your only car? While it is very possible to daily drive a DSM, once you modify them the chances of them having issues increases a lot. When I first bought mine it was very reliable and I drove it every day for about a year. Once I started really upgrading things it slowly lost some of its reliability.
From the sounds of it this car your looking at has been in the hands of a few people on xceedspeed, and you don't know what kinda can of worms you be opening. While it sounds like this current owner has tried to put it back together right, even he wants to dump it because of the upkeep.
I'm not saying stay away, I'm just making sure you know what you "could" be walking into. You could pick it up and it could be a great car and have no problems. But being realistic, just know you could have things go wrong. How extreme or complicated? that's hard to say.
Are you able to take the car to a mechanic or friend that knows what to look for on the car? Like suspension, drivetrain, and motor issues?
Also one thing to note, this car does have a 6-puck unsprung clutch. This means its going to be a slight pain in the ass for driving around the city. I had a 6-puck sprung clutch in mine, and it was very grabby and chattered a bit. Since his is unsprung it will be that much harder to drive smooth.
Thats about it, Good luck if you end up going through with it, and I hope it turns out to be a good deal for you.

i don't know anyone personally that's good with DSM's. cpl ppl on here don't live that far from me if i ever got desperate.
i rarely ever drive in the city for more then 5-10 mins. and my turbo avenger had a spec stage 4 un-sprung so i'm a little aware of how still a clutch can be lol. not too worried aboutt that.
thanks for your input.

Cool, just look it over real good, and make sure everything seems in good working order. If the car is in good shape you will have a car that's decently quick and more fun then the avenger.
Good Luck

It's orange... that should be enough of a reason to run like hell.
