this is the spyder in question: www.xceedspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=205777&pagenumber=this is what i'm offering in trade: www.xceedspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=205814(it's not my car, it's a laptop, check it out, actual worth is right around $1,700-$2,000) Other things included in deal: I bring my own rims (his rims are shitty anyway) I give him a 32" Vizio LCD TV 720p (6 months old, new price of $299) ^^this isn't certain, i'm trying to work out me keeping the TV^^ i'm going to go actually look at it tomorrow. any advice/things to look for? mostly things to do with a 4g63, or a spyder, i know most the stuff on 2g n/t to look for. ---------------- reason behind this: i NEED a car and my avenger is down for the count (at least $500 in repairs needed) I'm broke, and my laptop is the only thing i have worth money. With the economy as it is, and Christmas right around the corner, i don't think anyone is going to just shell out $1,500 for a laptop. when i get the money i would fix the avenger (to running condition), and sell it. Then fix up the Spyder.

Well, it looks like it's in kinda rough shape. Mismatched body panels, and several dents that I can see. He mentions no rust on the strut towers, but I wonder about rust on the rest of the car. Check the rocker panels for rust. That's a ton of mileage for one of these cars too. Find out replacement history of wear items such as struts, balljoints, and wheel bearings. If this stuff is original, then it probably needs to be replaced- which isn't cheap. Also find out the mileage on the water pump, oil pump, and timing belt and timing components. Service limit is 50K on the timing stuff. And take a compression tester with you. make sure each cylinder is relatively equal to the next and make sure they're all above the service limit. If you don't have a compression tester, you can borrow mine. I'd say that test is mandatory on a high mileage car like that, so don't overlook it.

Well if it runs great and has no mechanical flaws, then it might not be a bad deal. Those are some big 'IFs' though.

i'm working out another deal with someone else. trade for a laptop, and him to pay for my car to get fixed, and $$ on top if repairs don't equal an agreed amount.
meaning he gets my laptop. i get his laptop, my car fixed, and money if the repairs don't cost as much as i thought.
