Date: 26 Jan 2008 12:38 Subject: Please help STOP ban to end drag racing in Canada Body: The government in Canada is passing a law that will ban the use of leaded fuel in Canada for competition use. This ban, if passed, will mean the end of drag racing in Canada. The proposed law is slated to go into effect on January 9, 2009. .... ..Leaded fuel consumption for motorsports in Canada accounts for only 1.5% of all total consumption, and yet competition use is the only form targeted. That means no more Top Fuel Dragsters, Nitro Funny Cars, Pro Stocks, Pro Mods, Motorcycles, or for that matter the majority of all sportsman cars with any kind of performance enhancers. This is unfair and ABSURD!.. ..If you are passionate about our sport, please call or write the local lawmakers and make your displeasure known. The comment period closes February 13th, 2008... ..Contact Information for the Canadian Government.. ..Sign the petition at: petitiononline.com/Snakepit/petition.html

Yeah, I read about this on NABR.... There's going to be some pissed off racers if this goes through. It would be sad to see tracks shut down.

thats just insane that they would ban leaded fuels in competiton racing, but not in airlines. its a very interesting read, i sugest everyone read it over, and sign it. I did. I'm #4391. I sure hope they dont ever try something like this in the US. BTW, heres a working link. petitiononline.com/Snakepit/petition.html
