Today Martin 131 Raceway held their first of the season, Sport Compact Day. As it stood, [glow=blue,2,300]WMDSM[/glow] was rumored to establish a MEET within the group at this "much-anticipated" event. I emphazise on the term, [glow=red,2,300]RUMORED[/glow]
At about 11:00am, I scoured these forums in hopes of a moderator, much less a member, *ahem, TJ* would have set a time or a meeting place, perhaps so that WMDSM members could maybe, just maybe be seen todether, as an ACTUAL DSM GROUP. Only notice for this rumored May 15th event was posted at 2:30AM by Starless who actually established at time for herself and a few others. Failing to alert other Grand Rapids members, or even state an invitation, every other member is without information on these "fun-filled" activities within our "group"...
Feeling the need to coordinate my own group meet, I personally drove from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids at 12:00 noon, picked up a member, drove back to Kalamazoo, and coordinated a meet of 7 or 8 cars MYSELF. In an attempt to contact our "leader" TJ, all that was said was, "Yah its basically all done, you guys missed it; you know it ends at 4."
No disrespect implied, but I feel that Brandy is really the only person on the Grand Rapids side, keeping this forum together. WMDSM was a great idea, but it is slipping out of your hands pretty fast TJ. Here in Kalamazoo, Brandon, Matt, Andrew, Jesse, Mike, Me, and even Joe meet together quite often, and enjoy actual physical contact with each other, rather than your "internet, xceedspeed" (excuse me) BULLSHIT. This site was emphazised on DSMs, and although no disrespect on anyone elses cars AT ALL, (I respect everyone in what ever they drive) TJ maybe you should pay a little more attention to what you have started here, rather than what Jeff ran in his quarter-mile last week. All im saying is that you seem to talk quite alot about your "super 1g", on your "DSM site", and rarely comment unless it is about a Cavalier, Probe, or someone you banned from the site. I AM NOT ALONE ON THESE THOUGHTS WHATSOEVER. We talk amongst ourselves here and in Grand Rapids, however I felt the need to speakup after todays display of poor organization and foundership. (foundership??! is that a word?? lol) No disrespect, just something you should think about TJ. I think the people in WMDSM are cool, keep up the work on our cars, and aboue all, I think the IDEA of a DSM group and site is cool. I said the "IDEA". The thought was good, although the actions of the founder did not follow.
I hope you dont take this in offense TJ, I am just a minor member in WMDSM, but after this has been an issue disscussed numerous times with many members, I thought I should let you in on the feelings of one, minor, yet active member. If you choose to to delete this thread, or perhaps feel angry and kick me from [glow=red,2,300]WMDSM[/glow], it is you choice. I will state agian that this was posted in no disrespect AT ALL, just feelings and thoughts that needed to be stated.

Yeah I have been left out of the dsm group out here in GR. Not a lot of shit ever goes on over here. I guess we all have to agree and get shit more organized if this shit is gonna work. Today fuckin blew ass drove all the way to the gas station out at Martin and people are all leaving the track saying there done. Another few things we need to plan out when we have meets are AJ being 30-40 minutes late and Anticipating that Lafonds car will break down every meet. haha just playing guys you know thats never true. ;D But yeah lets not eff around no more

joe, i saw you and some fellow dsmer's on 131 north entering martin exit. i was like, its too late the track will closed @ 4PM.
ot - anyways, about the event. there were only few cars that entered the race, black hatchback civic that run 11.3xx is the fastest car at the event. well, with the exception from Hart motorsport (correction) red civic tube chasis that ran 9 seconds at the event. we talked to the guy and asked what is capable off, he said 6.5 sec and it ran 7.xx last tuesday. - just to keep you posted on what is the main highlight at the event.

Well WMDSM is realitively new so im not surprised that everything has been "smooth sailing". If we get a few people to plan events a good time in advance things will get better. I like the Kalamazoo meets every tuesday. That should get something going, its better than no meets at all. I think that our problem is that everyone is waiting for someone else to plan a meet. Then when a meet is planned ther isnt enough notice in advance. Just my .02 cents.

I have nothing to say except I agree. I take no offense to your comments AJ and I hope we are still cool. As for the events in g.r. I would like to have more during the week but most of the g.r. people are older with families. So that makes it hard. I don't think my car is a "super" anything. I think I can talk about my dsm on a dsm site. I dont know where that came from but I do think it looks decent and it goes pretty quick. I think I can talk about it. Hell joe talks about how his car is the cleanest 2g out there.(It does look very nice joe) Anyway this opened my eyes today I appreciate it and if you have a problem with the way things are going around here please bring them up. I can take it and I would rather people didn't talk about me behind my back. I appreciate it that you brought it up to me today AJ. As for everyone else I will be working to make the wmdsm experience a better one for all of you. (right after I fix the rear end I blew at the track today )

-Topic Moved-
I can see that there is some lack of communication between the different "cells" within the WMDSM community. That is exactly what this forum was created for, use it. If you have an idea, meet, or know of something coming up, post it and post it early so arrangments and plans can be made ahead of time and not at the last minute. The club is young and growing VERY quickly, things like this will happen.
As far as off-topic conversations (i.e. Jeff's quarter mile times, or what I ate for breakfast, etc) this is an open forum, there is a section for these things (General Forum). If there is a serious problem with this, we can always create an Off-Topic section if you feel it is necessary.
