You will need to work on that launch a little with the new twin disk. Doing a launch with a stock flywheel is easy because of how heavy it is. More stored up energy to keep it spinning even after you try to slow it down. Either way we will have lots of fun with the laser as long as you don't put a gay spoiler on it

The best way to launch a twin disk is to pre-load it (release till it starts grabbing) with the e-brake pulled hard. When ready drop the brake and your gone. Make sure you install a pedal stop so you dont overextend the finger travel.

I guess it depends on your driving style. I was thinking for the pre loading your line lock would be awesome. I will be talking to you when I grab my twin disk because the line lock sounds nice.

Just an update on the progress.... Got Angelo's old 18G installed(TD05 compressor cover), the 3" exhaust is done, rear camber is fixed(modded upper control arms), the Megasquirt 2 is running ignition only for now until my PLX wideband comes in..I plan on installing TJ's old FMIC possibly this weekend, and fab up all the piping. Will be buying the Quartermaster twin disk clutch shortly, and a basic TRE trans go-through and rebuild, using the 4 spider diff option. I need to rebuild the rear subframe and replace bushings, and the like, and also the carier bearings. Once i get the FMIC installed, and the Megasquirt finished, it's time for some cams, kevlar t-belt, new revised lifters, and new t-belt pullies. A line lock is getting installed, and i have the wiring done for that, with a small pushbutton switch mounted to the shifter so i can press it with my thumb at the launch, then release it and go. I have 2 LED's mounted in the gauge pillar to light up when the line lock is activated as well.. I've got more wet sanding and buffing to do yet as well, sandblast the wheels and repaint, and polish the lip's up..Paint the calipers, and also the front wheel bearings. Already replaced the right rear wheel bearing..It's getting there..Shootout is coming up fast So far i've only been able to pull off a 14.4 @ 94 mph, 2.0 60ft, with the current setup, no tuning really..at 11 psi. The 3" exhaust helped, but the intake side is lacking, using all the stock rubber hose crap and SMIC..not to mention the head has 1G turbo auto cams in it..bah! This turbo is just asking for way more boost till it really starts to kick in..

Update here: I have TJ's old FMIC installed, made my own piping, a Turbo XS H-34 BOV, wet sanded and buffed out all of the car except the pass door(that shit sucked BTW), and this past weekend I got the Megasquirt 2 running both fuel and spark. Rewired the battery terminals, did some grounding work, and i'll be rewiring the fuel pump to get rid of the nasty 1.5v voltage drop at the pump. I installed a PLX SM-AFR wideband, with the DM-5 digital display gauge- made a cover plate to mount 2 gauges where the center vents are from black ABS, so that looks good..
On the to do-before-shootout list-
Cams, rear subframe/trailing arm rebuild, TRE trans, brake line lock, and the super sweet QuarterMaster twin disk clutch. It's coming together slowly but surely..gotta get some updated pics up too..
