oh and seriously man, the full red with the black talon spoiler looks sick IMO...now you just need to break out those headlights and paint them flat black on the inside!!!

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone .... Brandon, so nice to hear from ya again. I'm glad you like it, I'm trying to treat the Talon right. Blacking out the headlights was already in the plans. Been wanting to for a long time, having the turbo getting replaced gives me the down time to do that. I've already run into my first little snag. The compressor housing is too big and hits the metal water line that runs along the engine block, so I'll have to relocate it slightly, shouldn't be a big deal. Also looks like it might be time to break out the tube bender and TIG..... I feel a 6 point might be kinda nice, been measuring already a bit...... I'll see how the turbo project goes first though..... Updates in a few days........... hopefully....

All you have to do is dent the pipe to clear the comp housing.

Lots of updates....some good, some NOT...... anyways...here goes...the good first..... I thought about the whole denting the metal water pipe to make the turbo fit, but the more I thought about it the more I didn't like that idea...... so I lopped off the flange with the plasma cutter, ground it down good, tipped it out about 15 degrees and tagged it back on..... test fit, then layed the tig down on it..... Much better now, just reclocked the center section, and no more rubbage..... Then I started thinking I might wanna wrap the header before install (you all know how much I HATE underhood heat, and how much I like header wrap :-) )....Then I got thinking, why not ceramic..... So I throw it in the coater, coat it good, let is cure in the cooker for 25min (twiddle thumbs....) and out pops my not so shiny, but now should be much cooler mani. Mounted up the turbo and WG and boo-ya.... OH yeah, guess what I found in the bottom of my muffler, CHUNKS ;D Then comes the sorta suckyness..... I start thinking....hmmmm maybe I should clean up this funky looking exhaust..... I see this piece just between the cat and the "catback" piece.... I tried hard to ignore the booty fab welding, the stainless on one side and mild steel pipe on the other, oh and the rust hole by one of the hangers...... and I did ignore all of that until I looked down the pipe and found this WTF? someone thought it must be a good idea to cram these two dissimilar pipes together and weld together a small piece of 3" stainless to a 3" piece of mild steel that had some sort of wacked out donut / neck down / nasty ass restriction in it..... No wonder I had all kinds of weird boost issues......3" to 1 1/2" and back to 3" with all the crap in-between could not make my car happy....... Check out the nastyness on the mild steel side So to heck with the whole thing....... I plasma cut that piece out and am ordering a brand new 3 1/2" catback and fabbing up a cat eliminator..... Sorry, just had to rant, I really didnt expect that, in what I thought was a nice continous 3" exhaust...... But anyways, all is going well..... Gotta get going.....the oven is beeping at me cause my headlights are done baking :-)...... blacked-out housings incomming ;D Peace

That should wake that car back up! BTW if you need some header wrap I have a new package in the garage I'm not using... sell it to ya for the price I paid (still have the sales slip too)

Those wheel chunks are awesome!!! Can't believe that happened. And unfortunately I know the story behind the exhaust work...

Hmmm, ok, now I got a dilemma....
Do I continue with the hacked up fiberglass blitz front bumper that has a huge opening for my FMIC, or
Do I put on the 2gb Urethane Talon front bumper, that in my opinion looks better, but has a much smaller opening for my FMIC, or.......
Do I get something entirely different...
Any opinions guys???

i think the 2gb talon bumper would look a lot better. plus you can always get creative with trimming it out if you want maybe something like boostedtalon did on his

Brent took the words right outta my mouth.
I'd definitely go with an OE urethane front and cut the opening larger for the FMIC. I've been debating doing this with my car as well....
