Yeah, I'm definetly leaning towards the 2gb Talon front..... Now I just have to find a way to open it up a bit, but not take away from the smooth lines of it....... Thanks for the responses....

Jon,
Glad the ride is coming along! Few things:
#1 GET THE 2GB TALON BUMPER AND NEVER LOOK BACK!!!!!
#2 That ceramic coating is fricking amazing!!!
#3 Those turbo chunks are one of the coolest things I've ever seen, not that it was a good thing by any means but since there is nothing anyone can do about it, I thought I could express my true opinion like Pinder did
#4 Ahh the exhaust, and that janky connector portion welded up by Sir Harold at Belle Tire in 3 minutes time. Matt can chime in here anytime he wants since he was there the day I swapped all that out...Here is the abbreviated version of this story and anyone from Kzoo sp00ln will be able to vouch for this:
I lived in the student ghetto for 2 years and my neighbor 3 doors down hated me, my car, my friends, their cars, and all the noise we produced to the point of him not only having UNDERCOVER kzoo police officers come to my house, threatening me on at least 4 occasions (once in front of my dad and the consumers energy guy), but lastly, he started a neighborhood petition to force me to get essentially get rid of my car, my roomates car, and a guy down the street due to "excessive noise"
I in return my myself well versed on MI state laws regarding decibel levels and all that crap and used a decibel meter to make sure I was in check. The thing is, I was running a full 3" stainless RNR 02 back exhaust with no cat and no resonators, so I def was exceeding the limits at idle and WOT well we wont even go there. So I first installed the 3" stainless hi flow cat hoping it would help..it did, but 5 decibels wasnt enough at idle. I then by chance ran into Dan from GR who was running a cat back Greddy PE exhaust and wanting to trade it for something louder. I had originally been running a Greddy Street (or something of that nature) until it rusted out on me (just like in the pics you provided, right at that elbow) and I replaced it with the beautiful RNR setup.
So Dan and I decided to swap the cat back portions and I had to modify the Greddy cat area to slip fit the hi flow cat. That ghetto elbow concoction is the result of that. It was never meant to be permanent or anything nor look pretty but for the time being keep my asshole of a neighbor off my back and get me through winter, and then you bought the car in March, and the rest is history.
I will say this: I loved that Greddy setup, other than the non stainless metal and that weired connector. I had been a huge fan of my old one, the low grumble and tone it produces was my favorite, I just could never justify the $700-800 pricetag for replacing it vs. $600 or so for a full stainless RNR setup.
So, I'm sorry you were left with that, I honestly forgot about it until I saw the pics, but hope that you offer that cat back up to others in the area, I coated that mofo in engine enamel so it wouldnt rust and the muffler/resonator should be in good shape. There were several people that wanted it from me back in the day, fyi.
Good luck with the replacement, I cant wait to see pics!

HAHAHAHA That's a great story Don't worry, It's no big deal..... I actually thought it was funny as hell ;D when I saw that.... My dad looked at me like WTF (GM and ASE certified mechanic for 25yrs) His expression was priceless.... Dude sounded like a total prick, ahh I remember those western days, people can be such turds. Thankfully I live in the middle of nowhere, I can be mostly as loud as I want with no reprecussions. Sometimes you do what you have to do. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go the 2gb talon front, just gotta sand it down and spray it...gotta see if I can mod it real slightly first. I too got a kick out of the chunks, I got em sitting on a shelf in my garage on display Thanks for the encouraging words, I love the talon, but I have this horrible habit of once I replace one thing I see 10 others I should replace at the same time and a simple turbo swap turns into a 1-2mo project Oh well I've actually considering, just removing the cat (just store it for awhile), and putting a single section of 3" all the way from the end of the downpipe to where the catback begins. Sorta like a test pipe, but without flanges, cause there aren't any. Prolly will be a little loud, but whatever. Just gotta find a hookup on some 3" stainless...... I'll see how it turns out. If I end up swapping out the catback, I'll more than likely offer it up for sale on here. Also contemplating what to do with the WG, Recirculate back into the exhaust or run it open dump with a small muffler or something.... still need a bit to think about it. Got the headlights blacked out last night, I'll post up some pics when I go home for lunch in like 20min ;D

i vote wastegate dump and testpipe. the external dump will be the most efficient for the wastegate and the cat isnt a big deal in michigan anyways. i'm not running one on my car. plus you gotta figure the noise of the wastegate will only be an issue when you really put your foot into it anyways.
