You do realize that if you plan on competing in the races, you're not supposed to have tinted windows, right? Well thats about fuckin stupid But tint is easily removed.

Then again, I wasn't dead set on keeping the window tint that it came with either. I planned on reading up on the rules this weekend. Especially before we do the cage, seat, and fuel cell.... Thanks for the head's up though.

You do realize that if you plan on competing in the races, you're not supposed to have tinted windows, right? Who said that? I've raced for 2 years with window tint with no problems...granted it was only at Martin, but they like to pick on import guys for all sorts of things.

Not much to report. We didn't do much to the car this weekend. We didn't pull the engine as planned, but that should happen this week sometime... We did remove the rear bumper and bumper cover. All but three bolts broke. And I can't believe how heavy the rear bumper is. That was a big help in our quest for weight reduction. We also picked up a set of Comp Cams 101200's for this car today. Score!

Exactly what I was thinking, they'll probably end up hurting you overall.
The turbo will spool up later, and then fall off of peak boost waaaaay before redline.

Jason (aka boosted90awd on here and xceed) ran a 16g with fp2 cams and wasn't able to get it to hold past 22psi. Nothing he did would make it work. Angelo had a pretty good idea that he has used in the past, but I will let him explain it.

dual intake cams. or maybe just a 264 exhaust even? i know project goodwill was running 264s but they also were running a cryo2 setup which likely helped make up for the spool. i believe they also had a 7cm exhaust on their 14b as well.

The double intake cam is very nice. Ben's red car had it and that thing pulled really hard all the way through its rpm range with no drop off. The only bitch is setting the timing because the marks don't line up.

Paul did you pick up them cams from your work by chance? I was curious if they had any dsm cams in stock.

Ideally (on paper), we would have wanted the 101100's. But, there's not a huge difference in the grind for the 100's to the 200's, and the operating range is only shifted 700 RPM's. We're going to be pushing our little 14B much harder than most people do. Exactly what I was thinking, they'll probably end up hurting you overall. Prove that on paper, and I'll believe you. The turbo will spool up later, and then fall off of peak boost waaaaay before redline. What do 14B's hit 20psi by? Around 3300 rpm's or so? The operating range for the 200's starts at 2600. And with as light as the chassis is going to be, quicker spool might not be the best thing for it anyways. Also, no matter what cams we run, boost is going to fall before redline. Thats simply because the turbo is just not designed for high boost and high HP. Jason (aka boosted90awd on here and xceed) ran a 16g with fp2 cams and wasn't able to get it to hold past 22psi. I ran a B16G on stock cams and it fell off to 23 psi by redline. No matter what cams I run, I plan on boost falling by redline. It may be tougher to tune for high boost with these cams, so you guys may be right. But if you remember with Project Goodwill, he had a set of FP1's and never got them working right. He eventually swapped them out for a set of more aggressive Crower 64413-2 cams, which is basically the same as the HKS 272/272 combo. In his case, a more aggressive cam set helped greatly. I feel that makes sense when your trapping over 120MPH in the quarter. At 120 MPH, I feel the stock cams will hurt more than a set of 101200's. Thoughts on that?

Paul did you pick up them cams from your work by chance? I was curious if they had any dsm cams in stock. I do have the 101200's in stock here at lane. But I didn't buy these new. I traded them for an extra non-lsd subframe that I've had laying in the back of the garage for 2 years... It was the deal of a lifetime for me, so I couldn't turn it down. I'm not 100% dead-set on runnigng these, but I don't feel they will hurt. I'm also not apposed to trying something that is potentially better for my set-up and selling these to purchase the chromoly tubing for the cage. I would love to hear more about your cam trick, Angelo.
