I bought my second Colt a few months ago, and it has just sat in my garage since I picked it up. I just recently got classic car insurance for it, and when I quit being lazy I'll actually register the car too. I am hoping that making a project log will light a little fire under my ass and I'll start working on her.
As of right now the car is sleeping under a cover in my garage, but I will take some updated pics for this thread. My goals over the winter are to have all the brakes and suspension completed along with a few cosmetic things and some interior repair. Oh, and buy some fat-ass low-offset Work wheels. I just need help in deciding on Equip 01's or Equip 03's. I have used my awesome MSpaint skills a little and am leaning toward the 03's, but that might change in time.
Long term goals for this car are to have something that goes easy 10's on a street tire with pump gas (e85), and has a full interior and is fun to drive. Car will be a mix of old school JDM/Detroit muscle and will be 2.0l powered with a custom topmount and something along the lines of a 35-42r. I am hoping to just be able to enjoy driving it next year, and the following winter I will dive into the drivetrain.

I actually saw that on another board that I visit. Very mean looking car. I need some money to get my suspension already, arghh.

So I was looking around at some pics of japanese classic cars the other day and saw a handful of cars with front lips. I was a little skeptical at first, but after seeing a handful of cars I decided to give one a shot. Here are a few pics of other some cars with lips: This one is a little too much: I like this one (might just be the car, haha) Perfect: The lips for sale that I found were pretty rare and car specific with nothing available for a Colt. Since I didn't want to shell out $200 for something that *might* fit and *might * look good I went a different route. Most people have seen a 67-68 Camaro and might remember they have a front lip. I found a bunch on Ebay on the cheap so I ordered one. I got around to mocking it up today, and took some pics. As I figured it is a little too wide. I will probably cut it up and try to get a better fit, but I think it is something that will be a good mod to the car. Airflow to the radiator/intercooler will be improved, and it should improve aesthetics. I think eventually when I get all the bodywork done I will get a non-plastic one and have it paint-matched. I will also be chopping the bumper mounts to bring those diving boards back closer to the body which should improve the looks more than anything.

Got a little bored yesterday and thought I would tinker for a bit. I put my evo shiftknob on and also took off the front bumper. I will be doing some sort of modding to the bumper so that it will sit closer to the body and look less like a diving board. Here is a pic of the car without it on, as you can see it is a night-and-day difference. I also sent in the application for registration so it should be road-worthy in a few weeks for the metro cruise and maybe a meet or two. I would really like to have some new Kirkey's in it and maybe a nice Nardi wood wheel before the summer is over. Lastly I could use some input on what to do with my inner parking lights. I plan on eliminating both of them and putting in some sort of velocity stack/bellmouth but I can't decide which I like better. It is between these two: www.dwperformance.com/kommerce_productdetail.aspx?item=VIB10951or www.armadaleautoparts.com/userimages/Chrome%20and%20dress%20up/velocity_stack.jpgThe first is a bit larger and would stick out a little, and the second would be flush and sit more inside the grille. I also think I would polish the first one to match the chrome bumper if that is what I chose. Heck, I might even just leave the light on the driver's side and only run the stack on one side.

I agree. The 2nd one looks 10x better. I'd do it in both holes too. Not crazy about having it on one side only.
