I picked up a new project thanks to some good lookin' out by another member on the board. Thanks, AJ . Car is a '92 Mitsu Mirage GS. These seem to be about as rare as my old '89 Colt GT. It is equipped from the factory with a 4G61n/t, 5 spd manual trans, tach'd cluster, rear disks and a handful of other options. Two notable things are the only-for-'92 white-faced gauges and "DOHC 1600" valve cover. The motor is very low on power, and the body has a some rust that needs attention by the rear wheel wells. Other than that it is a pretty straight car. The car will be built rather slowly, but I hope to have the following done by Shootout '10. -4G63 N/T swap -Bodywork -Megasquirt -Full exhaust -Suspension -Brakes -Evo 8 seats -'91 GVR4 "wagon wheels" Etc.. After I tackle all that stuff I will turbo swap it with a setup very close to my old car, but a tad more efficient. On to the pics...

Lol, thats pretty sweet. So did you ever end up selling off the colt? Is this going to take where the old colt left off?

I parted the white Colt GT, and the yellow '76 is currently for sale. Sadly I sold ALL of my parts for this chassis a few months back, but I have acquired a few hard-to-find items since I bought this recently. I have to wait until I sell my yellow Colt before I can start to tinker with this so for now I'll just be picking up parts here and there.

haha a tad more efficient meaning traction...
i like pulling in the garage and seeing this car. it reminds me soo much of my old galant but like its little brother. oh and the 1600 valvecover needs to stay for sure. we need to come up with a clean way to make that badge work too.

Pretty cool Ben, your right about that cool valvecover too. Car seems to be in pretty good shape cosmetically. Even has a locking gas door! Did you get any parts for it this weekend?

More efficient meaning e85 and more whp also. I wanted to keep that valve cover on the car, but its a little too beat up. I will repair it a little, clean it up, and then add it to my wall collection. I like the idea of a Hyundai VC for sleeperness anyway. Pretty cool Ben, your right about that cool valvecover too. I picked up a molding piece, gauge cluster bezel, mint trunklid, some mitsu badges, and a power/eco switch from a Galant. There were a handful of other things I wanted, but I'm gonna check around for better pricing.

um...why are you selling the Yellow colt? At this point in my life I don't have the money or time at my disposal to get the car where I want it. Very little for that car is bolt-on performance and carries a large price tag with it. This car will be a lot cheaper and still a blast. Besides, I have some unfinished business from my last CSM that I want to take care of. I hope to someday build a RWD 4g project still though, so don't be too disappointed .

I saw that on EvoM like a week ago actually. Not a bad deal, but I have some other stuff that needs to be addressed first. And as soon as I begin to buy turbo stuff I will get myself in trouble. That is a slippery slope that I need to avoid for a year or so.
I do have an update though. Got a set of KYB GR2's on the cheap along with a pocket to go under the radio. I will be throwing some GC coils on the car for the time being cause the price is right even though I know full well they will ruin my struts pretty quickly. And I plan on grabbing an Evo radio soon to replace the factory one in the car.

Picked up a donor '92 Eclipse GS for the motor last week. Had a bad A/T trans and a perfect 6 bolt motor. Turns out the trans was bad cause it was completely full of 80w90 gear oil . After scrapping the car and gas/dolly/title I have around 200 bucks into the motor and ECU. I will be cleaning it up a little and then throwing it in the Mirage sometime after the Colt sells. The car Motahhh Almost out! Aww shit. Big block! It is nice to get some progress on this thing. I can't wait til it is finally in my own garage.
