I'm looking for a FP Red Turbo, but don't have $1300 to buy new.
Let me know if you have a used one for a good price.
Thanks, Dan

Why a red? I am just curious cause even on their site them make big power but sacrafice effciency. Either way it should be a fun turbo.

I think Dan is just looking for a "proven" turbo that is larger than a 50-trim.
With all the different turbo options available, I'd probably opt for something a little more 'fresh' than a channel bearing 60-1. Hell, the 3052 costs less than a Red does.

I've got everything else, and I want a good bolt on turbo. The 3052 is smaller than a red.

Either that guys or give me some options on a better turbo, but I really need it to be bolt on. My 50's taking a shit and I'd like to go bigger but don't want to switch flanges or 02's or WG's

You can simply pick up a new CHRA with any compressor wheel you want. Get a BB 60-1 CHRA. Probably only cost you $650 or $700. That way you can reuse your compressor cover and turbine housing, instead of paying for new ones when you don't need them.

scm61 seems to be pretty cool. At 20psi with the roughest tune I have ever tried on Bills from the u.p.'s car I was saying holy shit. This is the same turbo Randy has but its a fluid bearing which is still really good imo.

To use his turbine housing he would have to keep the stage 3 turbine wheel with the bb 60-1. Great spool but I'll bet it would surge like hell. The bb 56 trim stage 5 (6152E) would be perfect for the 2.3l .

So would the 6152E CHRA fit inside my housings? I've got a Bullseye turbing housing if that matters. If so, who's got the hookup on the PTE's again, I forgot.

With a upgrade cartridge, you'll have to machine both compressor and turbine housings on your turbo. I'd call bullseye to see how much it would cost to send them over to be machined.

Yeah I know Dan, I've been up there personally 3 times. Another thing came accross my mind of used a Holset HX series turbo. Any opinions?
