We eventually made it, after driving for an hour then breaking down and sitting on the freeway for 3 hours, then an hour ride home in the flatbed and finally 6 and a half hours to ohio.

this is getting closer.... where are you guys staying, the last 3 yrs i stayed at the travelodge next to BK. it's way cheap but not much for the parties. i always end up drunk walking up the street. i haven't made res. yet and am thinking about getting a different room this year. less chance of getting hit by a car trying to cross that damn street drunk. twice. last year travelodge came in at 40/night. anybody compare.

I'm pretty sure we spent around $160 per night at Best Western the past two years. Correct me if I'm off on that number, guys.
I'm seriously debating camping out. Do they still allow guys to camp on track property? Also, the MIdsm guys camp and from what I hear, it's not far from the track. Just a few options. It would be cheaper and a nice change of sceenery. I also don't plan to drink if I bring my car.

My room was $200 per night. Jason and I camped in the pits at the track the first year and it was awesome. The weather was cool, great for sleeping. I'm not a fan of camping and sweating my ass off all night. But I called the track last year and I was told that there is no camping anymore but Jason slept in his car at the last Evo/Subie SO so who knows. It was nice sleeping at the track. They had breakfast and hot showers, plus we didn't have to wait in line to get in. I still haven't booked a room yet. I'm thinking this year I'll share a room with one or two other people but I'm sleeping in a bed by myself. No offence Brent.

I'd love to camp out this year, but nobody every really wants to...You can still camp at the track, but it's all paved now, no grass, so you have to either use something other than stakes to keep your tent in place, or use a camper of some sort. Didn't MIdsm stay at a nearby campground and had a great time? Sounds like fun to me. Maybe i'm just getting old(haha), but there always seems like too much douchbagery going on at the hotels.

damn $200 a night? that seems pretty steep for a town that isnt that populated (assuming). i would rather just pitch a tent up and have some fun with that (lol i just realized what i said). does anyone know of a cheap hotel to stay in? and whats the rent there?
but anyways, how long is the event? i've never been before. is it just two days or does it continue on unofficially for longer?
holy shit i want to go, hopefully i wont have to drive the neon. i'd rather go in spray-painted black rust-oleom style all the way to ohio. i'd be the hottest car there easy, even with the red interior too.
