Very nice ;D. Looks like you will be busy. I need to order a load crap for my laser. Hopefully in a couple months once college is done and I start working full time.

What do you have planned for the head? You'll need a good clean mating surface for that metal head gasket. You'll have a stout bottom end ready for some horse power thats for sure.

i had the machinist check to make sure everything was good, and had him deck the block .010" the head and block surface should mate beautifully. the guy did a 3 angle valve job and i'm taking all my parts to school because my auto teacher said he'd love to help me with the assembly.
the reason i'm going overkill with the bottom end is so that when i have enough money to afford it i'm going with a larger turbo setup and such. then eventually, might buy an AWD with a bad motor and drop it in.

I'm adding this reply steming from the dsmtalk thread to keep the noise level down. Dude .60 over is really pushing it. You might want to source a junkyard block to start fresh with. Also big overbores are more prone to developing hot spots that lead to detonation sooner. Also I think your going to have issues running them Wiseco's for daily use. If you ring it too tight they will eventually trash your bores way too early. Too loose and you'll have piston slap like a mutha'. I think you should have gone with a stock rebuild with 2g pistons and spent the rest left over on a bigger turbo than a evo 16g. I'm not trying to hate or flame on you at all. I would just hate to see you having problems after investing that kind of $ into a shortblock.

i'm in my senior year at high school. my teacher is also an instuctor at KVCC for engine overhaul. also, angelo, i think i'll go with your advice, gonna think it over for a little bit tonight, then prolly call slowboy and cancel order. then i gotta get ahold of TRE to get a block. i'm still going to have to pay like 300 for all my machining even though i won't use the block. i got the head work done, its competely stock. oh well.
so, now its time to start a new parts list here. i'm going with the mitsu front cover this time, but should i go with stock rods?
if i understand correctly i should go with stock everything except 2g rods. get the walbro 255, what size injectors?, afc-II, what turbo?
keep in mind i'm only FWD and traction will be an issue. looks like i'll be sticking to highway pulls. oh yea, LSD insert? or is that a bad idea?

Just do a 6 bolt big rod with 2g piston .20 over engine. New everything with front cover, timing belt side, oil filter housing, main seal case, the works. Have it torque plated during the overboring and have the cams degreed when fully assembled. Other than that do as you wish as far as tuning the fuel. I would just keep it simple and run a 2g mass, afc, afp reg,255l walbro, and a set of 660's. Get a green or a red since it's fwd alittle lag will do some good for the traction. With all supporting mods and that setup should be good for some 120's. ;D
