Thanks Paul, I've got new seals coming for it soon too. At first I was just going to throw it on but when I pulled it apart I found that the shaft seals were toast. And today the odometer on the car turned over to 150K, doesn't mean much as far as the parts on it go, but it does mean that I've had it for about 50K miles now.

I got bored today and decided that instead of paying ~$25 for a FIAV block-off plate I would just draw one up and have the machine shop at work water-jet me one. If anyone's interested here is the print I drew up for it...

So I've been getting an Injector Circuit Malfunction CEL, tested the injectors out and they all seem fine. Ordered some new injector connectors and tore the intake manifold out so I can throw my new stuff in and clean up the injector wiring along with some other stuff. Forgot how much fun it is to take the intake manifold out with the head in the car....

I have the same code on my red car. First it was a TPS harness malfunction, now it's the injector harness.... WTF? Still haven't found out where the issue lies. Keep us updated, and if I find anything I'll let you know here too.

Yea, it's a pretty broad CEL. So since I took the intake out so I can throw in my new one I figured I'd tear into all of the ignition and fuel control electrical and replace whatever needs it. After working on it for an hour or so tonight I discovered that whoever owned the car before me was a real electrical wizard, pics....

thats a lot of butt connectors.... any idea why they would have needed to hack the harness soo much?

I really have no idea why anyone would did it the way that it was done. Tons of butt connectors and not only that but where the butt connectors were used the insulation on the wires was stripped so far back that there are bare wires everywhere. But I'm about halfway done with soldering in new wiring on all of it and then I'll try and cover it all up and make it look pretty.

Worked on the car for a couple of hours tonight, it still looks like a mess but I'm very happy with how it's looking so far. I've been wanting to tackle this project for quite some time and it feels good to finally be working on it... Here's the small pile of crap wires I've replaced so far...

Alright, a little update. Finished the rewiring projct and threw in my new intake manifold, fuel rail and freshly built tb. Still getting an "Injector Circuit Malfunction" though. I'm starting to lean towards a slowly failing resistor pack, injector, or possibly a slight ECU problem.

So I've tested everything there is to test on the injector circuit. My resistor pack tested out fine, 6 ohms on all 4 resistors, I have twelve volts to all of the injectors, I tested resistance from the ECU connection to all injectors and nothing is shorted out and all injector connectors are on the correct injectors.
The car will fire up and run, but it runs intermittently shitty, the wideband reading will switch between really lean and really rich, the only thing I can think of now is that I have an injector that is mechanically failing intermittently, staying open or closed and causing the rich and lean readings, so I ordered a set of FIC 1050cc injectors and hopefully it turns out to be that. Anyone else have any ideas?

Any update on how those injectors worked out?

Yea, got the 1150's thrown in and it fired up and ran good enough to drive, no CEL's whatsoever. I just bought some rebuilt 450 blue-tops for about 60 bucks though because I changed so much in this one project I'd rather try and tune my air flow and get my idle right with stock injectors so I don't have that variable thrown in there too.
So after I get those in I'll get my airflow tuning down and hopefully the idle, and then when I'm feeling adventurous I'll throw in all my fuel shit that I have sitting in the barn. I'm just glad that the problem is finally fixed.

Hmmm, injectors huh? I wonder if mine are bad too then. But I bought them new from FIC. Worth a try though, I've got some 450's I could try instead of the 1150's that are in there now... Any way to test the injector as far as a multimeter goes? I'd like to know for sure.
