All I got to say is...
The way you guys are arguing back and forth is going to lead to NO club period.

stop bitching! i agree with silverGST that everyone should stop so there still is a club. also i agree that everyone in the club should own a dsm. maybe not as there dd but still have one. i like to read on these forums and shit im on tuners as well and dont own one, but a dsm club should be of dsm's and nothing else.

Ok, I'm going to throw in my thoughts about this club. I do think this is and should remain a DSM club. I have noticed a rise in membership and these new members don't seem to own dsms, or it seems that they just want to sell stuff on the site. I'm not talking about you Dave. (Anyone that can save me a few bucks and build a business, is ok in my book.) Its all Win Win. Just because Irishman owns a STi doesn't mean he doesn't belong in this club. He has a strong interest in AWD turbo platforms. Just because he chooses to buy a STI instead of an EVO shouldn't mean he can't be a member or be welcomed to any meet. Any new members from this point on should maybe be restricted in some way to our site. Maybe there could be a dsm owners/members section only. I don't want to exclude or turn off some kid that wants to be a part of this community just because they don't have a dsm. Maybe they should be restricted on the site in some way until they become dsm owners. I believe people that are already credible members should remain members regardless of what they drive or where they live. I don't think that Brandon or anyone else that is a current member should be excluded in any way shape or form from this club or web site. These members have DSM experience and passion for auto sports, that is a great resource to any club member. What I don't want to see is a bunch of people accessing this site and exploit it to sell crap or just to post and start fire wars. If they are dsm owners and can prove it, than welcome to WMDSM. If they're not and they're looking to purchase a DSM maybe we could help in some way. Attendance: Of course attendance is very important. I however can't make any of the Tuesday night events because I work second shift. I like the idea of weekend/monthly meets. I think most people should be able to make monthly meets with adequate notice. I think car shows, track days, beach meets, cook outs, install days, HIN, house party's and even Cedar Point trips would be awesome club events. We have a strong diverse network of members that is a great asset to any member. When my car went down, members stepped up to offer free parts, some members drove down from the West side of the state just to help, and one member worked all night with no complaining, no breaks, and he never asked for money or anything in return. He just genuinely enjoyed working om DSM's and he wanted to offer a helping hand. This is what I believe our club should be about. It doesn't matter if you are interested in Drag, Drift, Street, Rally, Auto cross, Time Attack, Show& Sound, we can all benefit from the experience and skills the we all have to offer.

Brandon is a trader and must be banned! ^^^^^^^^^^that's bullshit j/k^^^^^^^^ I understand that yes the common bond/back bone of this site is DSM's .... And here's the "but" but I've made great friends with people that have have and don't have a dsm. For alot of us we have friends who have different cars and we all have a common bond of cars. Maybe this should moved to be the xceedspeed of west michigan. not to knock on kzoorice but it's a little childish... this site is more grown up per-say yes we have parties and fun... but never have i seen as much bashing as i see on rice. There can be groups of north, south, east, and west for gatherings... and full gatherings set up monthly every other month... and weekly like kalamazoo has.. something like that.... I've known Brad of xceed speed for a long time before xceed speed was xceedspeed ( does that make sense at all) we sold parts to each other for our fwd gst's... anyways... back then he was looking at the bigger picture of a group of fellow car people with that common bond ...cars... I know we aren't hater's of others sure honda sound like shit but maybe we can learn something from them. Who here has bought something from Slowboy racing. notice their main page isn't just dsm's anymore... I have! Mike Huml was also in the paper (their local paper) as one of the top businesses in the area and last year sold more than $5 million in sales.... think about that... has Buschur's narrow mindedness done this... pry not. As much as I'm not a big fan of slowboy racing I've looked, learned, and listened. I would loved to see this small and humble site grow.... but it may be a good time to take a step back and look around to see who is here, what they drive, what their into, and to quote the movie "How to be a player" Adapt! north south east west types of cars out there. weekly, monthly, quarterly gatherings the melting pot is around, maybe it's time to blend it together. and a plug I'm selling a sweet ass turbo setup some one needs to buy it.... At our dyno day none of the 2wd's were dsm's...... just my 2 cents take it or leave it Randy

I am sorry to all I am not trying to be harsh or difficult. This is a DSM club. Xceedspeed has very active members on this side of the state and you are welcome to post there.
Being a member on the forum is one thing but this thread is about making members to the "club" (dsm owner in West Michigan) Again I don't care if there are honda/chevy/ford/dodge/etc.. owners on this forum that you talk to or if people show up to the weekly meets. Hell whenever I get the chance I go hang out with all my car buddys at bw3s but the fact is they all don't own dsms so they don't even give it a thought about joining a dsm club just like the ones that don't own hondas don't wanna get into 075 or michigancivics. But thats not to say that come track days the efhonda.com crew turns people away because their car isn't a honda (but they also don't open membership to someone driving a escort)
The truth is this is WMDSM. I like Garrett, Brandon, Irishman (sorry forgot your name), Ryan, Jeff, Josh, and most everyone else except for a few local tools who have only signed up here to cause trouble. But what makes a dsm club a dsm club is owners with dsms that are willing to participate.
That being said I think its time to stop arguing and start planning ahead.

i am not just agreeing cause his name is tj and mine is dj that is just a weird. I do agree with the whole we should have a little sub threads on here for DSM owners only. Kinda like tuners and how they have spiffy threads for mods and wisemen

In my defense, I would have loved to come to some of the weekly k-zoo meets. I don't mind the 45-1hr drive each way at all, but on Tuesday nights, I cook for my dad at our bar in Watervliet. So EVERY tuesday night we have a .75 cent burger night and we are very busy, so I am there from 5-10 every tuesday, thus leaving me not able to attend the weekly meets.
And I think I posted this before, but my car was running like a POS the day of the dyno event. It just blew some hoses, and I didn't trust it for the drive at all. I can probly guarantee you though if the car was running nice and I did bring it, I would have taken home that trophy. I was so pissed when I found out a whopping 0 FWD dsm's showed up, and even more pissed that a non dsm took home the "WMDSM Dyno Day" trophy. Thats not cool. No offense to who won it btw.
As for the members who no longer own dsm's that have own'ed dsm's and want to be part of the club, I'm 100% for it! Altough Brandon no longer has the keys to the ignition to a dsm, he still retains the key's to tons of dsm related questions. Just cus you no longer own one doesn't mean jack f'in shit to me. If I need some help, and I see Brandon is on AIM, am I going to skip right by him and go to the next guy on the list? Hell NO. Just cus you don't have a dsm anymore, doesn't mean that when you sold it, you lost all your knowledge. Brandon's been here from the start, and I feel he should still be in the mod position that he is in now, granted he continues to frequent the site. I myself have been on the WM site less then 1 year, and I have only been able to attend 1 group meet in South Haven. Well and the small get together at burger king, but I was one of the guys to hop in the car and go help darrry when his car needed a HG. Shit, I hopped in and installed the head studs, and torqued em down to 95 ft lbs. while Paul (no offense) stood there and looked pretty (which your great at btw). And because of that, Darryl and I are now good friends, along w/ Elmo and I.
It's like I personally don't know alot of you, but I do know you so well persay. I frequently talk to Matt, TJ, Brandon, Darryl, Paul, Randy on Aim and throuhg PM' a lot. Just because I don't speak face to face, over the phone, or hang out w/ you all the time, doesn't mean were not good friends. And sorry, you probly won't see me at the party's you guys have, I'm just not a big party guy, but that's just me. But anytime you guys need a helping help w/ your car, I will try my best to help you out, whether it be physically turning wrenches or with just advice. And that, to me, is what a club is about. The physical meets, and hanging out is all just a big added bonus.
I have tried to be a guy that has come on board and let you guys know who I am and not be an ass, and I think I have done that. Just b'c I can't come to every meet and hang out, doesn't mean I'm not a great member.
Ps. Lindsay is hot.

Not to offend but dsm tooners isn't much of a source of good info.
Oooh, I'm gonna have to STRONGLY dissagree, and I think you know why.
I second that....All that I have done to my car (exhaust, intake, BOV, boost controller, gauges, etc, etc) I have done using info from tuners or from a current DSMWiseman... Anyway, apparently I started an argument way back when saying that DSM's only sounds kinda lame. Something along the same line as "no girls allowed." Are we gonna have a secret handshake too!?!?! Sorry for the sarcasm but this is ridiculous. This issue has been brought up NUMEROUS times over the last year and I have to say, I'll believe it when I see it. I know that not all of the people in K-zoo that come to our weekly meets have DSM's and frankly I don't care, they are way cool to hang out with and most of them have owned one in the past, so they can hang with the best of them when it comes to info. TJ, it sounds like your asking for input on where the club should go is arbitrary and that you already had ideas and plan on implementing them regardless. I respect that you started up the WEBSITE and think you have done a kickass job at that. Do what you are going to, you are the person who started the website, but as far as the meets go down here, we are going to keep accepting any rando that decides to show up and I will still ask Brandon first if I have a problem because he knows DSM's like the back of his hand and is a good friend REGARDLESS of his ride. ;D This is not meant to piss anyone off, so no need to argue with me.

I dont think he is talking about that i think he means for local meets. Cause if we were just to go to tuners we would have to run threw all of the bull shit threads on there just to get to one.

I third that. Only because it is my home and I grew up there. I've also learned most of my knowledge there, as I am not too fond of Talk. while Paul (no offense) stood there and looked pretty (which your great at btw). And because of that, Darryl and I are now good friends, along w/ Elmo and I. Hey, I lubed the ARP's and helped with the timing. I'm not just a model ya know! ;D PS - Good post dan. PPS - We definitely need to kick brandon out of the club now! ;D J/K haha, I got nuttin but love for you guys.
